Chain Stitch
as the name suggests is the continued
stitch done with the hook on the Hessian or hand woven cloth. It is used to
cover the floor as well ; a rare combination of two in one.
Immediately after a determination of size of a chainstich rug, the Naqash
(designer) traces the cloth. The (Talakgug) then embroiders the cloth in two to
three ply woolen yarn. The silk and wool is used some times to make the rug is
growing in the western countries. There are thousands of artisans
engaged with the craft.
The
General size that the rug remains available in, range from 2' X 3', 2˝ X 4, 3' X 5', 4'
X 6' and 6' X 9'. On order any size is possible. |
